ORALITY – THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF FAIRY TALES

Summary/Abstract: Along with the presence of the supernatural and the fabulous, orality is another specific and defining feature of the fairy tale. With printing and publishing, the fairy-tale collectors have expressly preserved this feature, because it gives specificity to this type of literature. Moreover, even the literary fairy tale is characterized by the orality of the style, the authors of the literary fairy tales being aware of its importance. In my paper, I intend to point out the main characteristics of the orality that we encounter in popular fairy tales and literary fairy tales.
