Summary/Abstract: The present article refers to the importance that the "Alexandru Papiu Ilarian" high school in Tîrgu Mureş had in the preparation of the economic, political and cultural elite of Mureş County and the country. Established in 1919, high school has undergone various stages of development and is rightly called the Admiral ship of the Mures high school education. In Papiu high school, future philologists, lawyers, mathematicians, physicians, teachers, engineers, athletes and politicians were trained. All these graduates have brought the spirit of the Papiu with them in the country and abroad.
