BOOKS THAT BUILD UP DESTINIES – THE INFLUENCE OF READING UPON THE LIFE OF DON QUIJOTE

Summary/Abstract: The present paper deals with the influence of books on people's lives and how influential these can be. It shows how books can shape a destiny and how books can be perceived as both medicine and cause for evil, depending on the perspective. It also depicts the scene in which several valuable written works are burnt in the pursuit of cleaning the world of their evil force. The character Don Quijote is accompanied in this attempt of becoming a knight, just as the heroes he admires so much.
