Summary/Abstract: The current paper aims to succinctly highlight and discuss the evolution of Romania’s foreign trade between 2002 and 2014, in relation to the process of European Union integration during the same temporal period, evolution considered under both the quantitative aspect (trade volume) and as well under a qualitative dimension (the structural changes underwent by the Romanian trade, as a direct consequence of the changes that occurred in economy). In order to emphasize these relations and for the purpose of achieving relevant insights into the influence that EU integration had on Romanian economic development, we synthetically analyzed the evolution and structure of Romanian international trade as inflows and outflows (imports and exports) and, consequently, the transformations that characterized the Romania economy after 2000.
