Summary/Abstract: The paper brings into discussion the problem of rational and non-rational factors in the process of artistic creation. It presents two antagonistic positions: the contribution of intellectual effort, the intuitive and discursive reason. The conclusion is that, in the process of artistic creation, inspiration and conscious work-out are complementary.
