Summary/Abstract: In the age of new technologies today the political scene is ever more dominated by the imperative of live and immediate feedback from citizens. The dangers of such a radical democracy of opinion have been known since the times of Aristotle: the principal one is the incapacity of power to assume responsibility, if not, by and large, to rule.
