Summary/Abstract: Looking throughout history, it can be said that the major decisions on the progress of the world were taken by strong leaders who changed the course of events even by their way of being. The psychological profile of the political leaders is meant to describe, contextually, the course of their lives, as well as particular aspects that characterize their behavior as leaders. Thus, not only the cultural and political context influences the leaders, but also their personality traits. A choleric will rule in a different way than a melancholic one and, to understand the decisions taken by them, it is necessary to pay attention at their personality type. This paper aims to analyse the way in which the temperament influences the politicians’ behavior and discourse. The theoretical perspective proposed is interdisciplinary, promoted by sociology, psychology, functional linguistics and pragmatic.
