Summary/Abstract: The phenomenon of international workforce migration is known to the entire society. Over the time it has triggered another phenomenon, that of return migration, which can be understood when the circumstances of emigration are known. By understanding the causes, the reasons for returning to the home country can also be understood. During their stay abroad, emigrants undergo a number of changes as a result of a transition through the integration and assimilation stages in the country of migration, which are analyzed in the present study using the identity-migration theory. This paper analyzes the implications of the phenomenon of return migration at the individual level, as well as the methods of intervention that can support emigrants decided to return to the home country. This highlights the difficulties faced by the migrants, difficulties that arise from the fact that many of them no longer feel "at home", as well as situations where returning emigrants wish to invest in the home country and face a series of impediments. With regard to the methods of intervention, the existing and implemented intervention pathways are brought to attention, and the necessary ones, resulting from qualitative research, are highlighted.
