Over the years he worked at scholarly institutions in Lithuania (including the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore, Vilnius University Centre of Polish Studies, Vilnius Pedagogical Institute) and Poland (including Warsaw University, Jagiellonian University, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań).
