Summary/Abstract: The current paper focuses on the rationale and design of a proposal for a cultural syllabus for engineering students in ‘Politehnica’ University of Bucharest. Since today’s world has become a network of intercultural communication, education must keep up with the students’ learning needs dictated by the profile of the real world. The foreign language syllabus meant to bridge language and culture in one approach and in one methodology is based on considerations from the field literature, on the author’s teaching experience and on the students’ particular learning needs.
