Marking his folklorist work, the critic emphasizes on the elements that give out originality and creative uniqueness: ‘The books of Gherasim Rusu Togan sit in a well-watered esthetics, on one side, of various lectures regarding the authors that handled rituals and ceremonials’ philosophy, of ethnologists and folklorists’ studies, while on the other, last but not least - and here it resides their exceptional interest – the side of personal research results, undertaken mostly in Hartibaciului Valley, the author’s natal area,...in which Ghijasa de Sus occupies, easy understandable, a privileged place..’ And in all their aspects, these creations are considered by the renowned critic ‘a valuable good and one of the last authentic testimonies of wealth of concepts and practices, which belong to the traditional man who, at some point, will become history’.
