Summary/Abstract: Military Gendarmerie is a specialized law enforcement agency and serves as a separate service of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army of June 15, 1990. On 24th August 2001 the Sejm of the Republic of Poland passed the Act on the Military Gendarmerie and military law enforcement bodies. This formation is one of the foundations of a safe and stable Poland, as part of its statutory duties it aims to provide protection for Polish citizens. Military Gendarmerie is carrying out duties such us prevention, investigation, logistics and technical administration. The authors of the article attempted to verify the hypothesis that the Military Gendarmerie are fulfilling their tasks by providing security and have a major impact on ensuring public safety during mass events. Close cooperation of the Military Gendarmerie with the Police brings specific and satisfactory results. The Military Gendarmerie supports Police not only during joint patrols, but also during the security of large mass-scale projects, among others Euro 2012, Independence Day, EBRD Board of Governors, celebration of events with the participation of the highest state authorities. Mass events are a part of a social life. The organization of such events requires a vast commitment of all entities responsible for security. Therefore, it is important to focus on the issue of common safety as well as to meet the challenges of a changing world. Responsibility for its provision during mass events rests largely on state and administrative bodies, but also on the citizens themselves.
