Summary/Abstract: The subsequent article syntetically presents the birth of a current and movement within the Romanian space. The period had in view deals with most of the 19th century. The conclusion is that Romanian liberalism subscribes to the patterns of European liberalism, being the result of the development of capitalism, of the birth of a new social class, the bourgeoisie, and of its struggle for the democratization of the society.
