Summary/Abstract: The major American interests do not aim only at political supremacy as the most important actor of the new international relations, but also to the ones connected to the current and conventional energy sources and resources, as well as the consequences of increasing their price. A document drafted by the Council of Foreigh Relations also highlights other important aspects neglected by the White House, involved in a series of „preventive wars”, right in the areas filled with the greatest oil reserves (the Persian Gulf, Middle East). The same Council of Foreigh Relations report concludes that „at present energy represents the most important issue of the USA’s foreign policy and not just one of the issues”.
