An Educational Tutorial on Theatre

Summary/Abstract: Csaba Székely’s Vitéz Mihály (Michael the Brave), the winner of the 2015 drama competition of the Weöres Sándor Theatre of Szombathely, had its premiere this October in Romania. The independent troupe 3G Theatre staged the historical play with the collaboration of both Romanian and Hungarian actors. Although the theatrical performance may be seen as a provocative gesture in the context of Romania’s Centenary, as also demonstrated by the nationalist critiques of its poster, the reviewer considers the theatre production in itself less provocative, although recognizing its virtues.
