Summary/Abstract: The article is based on an analysis of German literary anthroponyms, especially surnames, which are used in fifteen plays written for the Jára Cimrman Theatre. The aim of this contribution is to find for which figures authors choose German last names and also to observe the contrast between Czech and German surnames. The article also deals with the use of the functions of literary anthroponyms. Furthermore, it discusses stereotypes connected with Czech and German nationalism.
