Summary/Abstract: The Russo-Turkish war of 1828-1829, led to the change of the legal status of the Romanian Principalities. Russia became a protective power and Turkey a suzerain power. The Organic Regulations introduced new provisions in various areas of the Romanian social life, the most significant remaining those regarding the State organisation.
