Summary/Abstract: Today, global politics is anchored not only in the traditional geopolitical preoccupations, concerning security and military affairs, but also in a great variety of economic, social and ecological issues. Pollution, human rights and terrorism are part of the growing number of trans-national political subjects which intercross territorial jurisdictions and current global political alignments and which requires international cooperation for an efficient solution. Defense and security problems no longer dominate the global agenda, or the political agendas of national governments. The concept of global governing facilitates the subject formulation.
