Summary/Abstract: Most aspects of the Cucuteni–Tripol’e culture have been thoroughly investigated through many decades. As far as my knowledge goes there never has been tried to analyse, however, if that sophisticated Eneolithic civilisation used water-ways for communication and exchange (“trade”). Some writers have taken it for granted1. I think the question calls for being scrutinised in its own right, at the risk of proving that a wheel is round indeed.
