Summary/Abstract: Children belong to the group of the most vulnerable people. They are affected by armed conflicts at the highest level. That is precisely why they need help and protection, which should be ensured by states and international organizations (intergovernmental and non-governmental). The paper focuses on the problem of humanitarian assistance given to children in such dangerous situation as armed conflict. Firstly, international law norms will be discussed in the context of general and special protection of children, where specific needs should be met. Then the paper concentrates on problems and difficulties with delivering humanitarian assistance to children, such as attacks on humanitarian convoys, schools and hospitals, or the simple denial of humanitarian access to children, which constitutes a serious crime under international law. The obligations of states or parties to conflicts are not implemented fully in that matter, so it is necessary to change their attitude, as a great deal come down to political will, with children’s lives depending on that.
