Summary/Abstract: St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross is known as the exemplar of Christian life till the martyr’s death imitating the Christ’s sacrifice and in communion with Him. In the theology, philosophy, anthropology and many other disciplines she is well-known as Edith Stein. She was Jewish philosopher and theologian, in many aspects original and creative, fascinated by a quest of “the truth” – the truth definitive, fundamental, explaining the absolute right, the sense, the meaning and the aim of the all existence. In the special manner of her researches, they are directed to the human being and the question “who I am?”, “who is every other human being existence?” The initial phase of her research is related to her near acquaintance with Edmund Husserl, the father of phenomenology. At this early stage he is a master and guide for Stein. With time, especially from the moment of conversion and baptism, her view of reality is verified, enlarged and deepened. The uniqueness of her thought consists in the efforts of the preservation of rational and necessary in her conviction of elements of the phenomenology method in combination with the philosophical-theological wisdom discovered in Christianity, open on the transcendent dimension.
