Summary/Abstract: The end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century were dominated by Michael the Brave’s political personality. After the military campaigns from Transylvania and Moldavia, Michael decided to elect his son Nicolae Pătrascu and his nephew Marcu Cercel for administrating Wallachia and Moldavia. The relationship with his son was based on the old institution of the association to the throne, while regarding his nephew, the contemporary historical sources can not permit to define the political relation.
