Summary/Abstract: Based on the available sources, the focus of analysis is the recognition of the cult of St Catherine of Siena in the late Middle Ages in Kotor, for whose spreading the Dominicans were credited. Based on the fresco representation of the saint, it can be concluded that her cult in Kotor was formed upon two conceptual bases – the first framework was the charitable works of the saint, and the second resulted from the complex eucharistic symbolism which her controversial obtaining of stigmata bore
