Summary/Abstract: The study endeavours to analyze the urban space as a specific school historical source and examines its possible use in the context of Czech history teaching. It describes some inspiring concepts and methods connected with the category of space in different disciplines (urban studies, memory studies, historiography, heritage) and suggests several teaching activities applied to the urban spaces in the South Bohemian city of České Budějovice.
