Summary/Abstract: On February 18 2017. after a long illness, prof. dr hab. Piotr Jachowicz, who almost all his life was associated with the Warsaw School of Economics. After graduating from the Warsaw High School No. IX, In October 1973, K. Hoffmanowa began studying at the Central School of Planning and Statistics at the Faculty of Production Economics. He graduated from the university with a very good result, defending his master's thesis entitled Methodological problems of social structure analysis, which he prepared under the guidance of prof. Tadeusz Stępień in the Department of Political Sciences. In October 1979, he started working at the Central School of Planning and Statistics. Initially, he was employed as an assistant trainee at the Institute of Political Sciences and Philosophy (Department of Political Sciences) at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. Over the next few years, he taught classes on the Basics of Political Science, but the growing interest in historical subjects led him to establish cooperation with the Department of Economic and Social History at the SGPiS, where he lectured on the "Political history of People's Poland" for students of the Economic and Social Faculty. In October 1986. he became an employee of the Department of Economic and Social History. He worked there until the end of his life, first as an assistant, then from 1989 as an adjunct professor, and from 2007 a professor at SGH.
