Summary/Abstract: The aim of this essay is to present and analyze change, that occurred in BBC’s show „Doctor Who” – after fifty years of history (forty-eight of emission due to seven years of hiatus) the gender is changed. I present the steps, which led to this change – most of all introducing new face of Doctor’s arch-nemesis Master in female regeneration, under the name of Missy. The question is: how gender change affects fan’s expectations? In the world that is no longer afraid of gender stereotypes, casting woman as a Doctor Who meets sharp critique – is it something more, than force of habit? Is time travelling „for boys only”? Digging into literature and pop-culture I try to answer these questions.
