PROBLEMS IN THE PRODUCTION AND REALISATION OF HONEY IN BULGARIA

Summary/Abstract: The topicality of the paper derives from the potential for development, which the country's natural and the international interest to Bulgarian honey provide. The problem is that a very small part of the profit remains for the producer, which makes the sector not attractive enough and results in twice lower production than the country's capabilities. The main purpose of the paper is to describe the opportunities and the dependencies of beekeeping, with which to offer a model that supports its development. To achieve the aim the following tasks are to be accomplished: - to define the prerequisites and factors on which the production of honey depends; - to analyse the situation of beekeeping in Bulgaria; - to offer models for product realization.
