RESULTS FROM REALIZED PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS FOR REDUCING POVERTY AND SOCIAL INCLUSION IN NORTH WEST PLANNING AREA

Summary/Abstract: In recent years, one of the most important sources of funding in the Northwest Planning Region (NWPR) in combating poverty and social inclusion are the European funds. The economic progress achieved in the NWPR during the period under review is very limited, despite the large volume of European financial resources invested. Of all projects funded in the NWPR during the previous reference period, 7,9% are directly relevant to the fight against poverty and 25,8% to the problems related to social inclusion. Poverty is also addressed through the prism of so-called United Nations Global Development Objectives (UN) and in particular Goal 1. Eradicate poverty all over the world and in all its forms.
