Summary/Abstract: The Home Security Corpus (HSC), established in the mid-1940s, was an integral part of the security and public order organs and its role was ‘to protect the people’s power from the home reaction and to fight the armed underground’. It was dissolved by the end of 1965, and its former units were renamed as the units of Internal Defence Army and made subject to the Ministry of National Defence. The article focuses on the structure, generalship, and the tasks carried out by the HSC in the most important periods of its activity.
