Summary/Abstract: In our study, we can confirm that the teaching/learning of oral French as a foreign language is not an easy task, however important in the training of learners. The spoken word is a main daily language practice, but it is poorly considered and does little real education. Considered as elusive, ephemeral, it benefits from a negative representation in relation to written language practice, to which it is constantly compared and to which it is most often used as support. For many language teachers, teaching / learning of the spoken language remains a conflictual, unclear and poorly defined practice in the language class, reducing itself to global and sometimes uncertain practices. The purpose of this study is to highlight the notion of the spoken word and to show that the acquisition of oral communication skills can constitute, independently of the written word, an objective in its own right in a foreign language class. It is also a question of proposing a methodology for oral teaching / learning and its evaluation which takes into account its variations and specificities.
