Summary/Abstract: Like a legend said as long as Nieśwież exists it will bless family of Radziwiłł. This article is study of the role of Nieśwież during the reign of Deputy Chancellor of Lithuania, Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł (1635- 1680) and his wife Katarzyna z Sobieskich Radziwiłłowa (1654-1694). Nieśwież as the main manor house of Radziwiłł magnates, determined the identity and value of this clan. During the reign of Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł town and castle of Nieśwież experienced many hardships and restorations. Michał Kazimierz was one of the members of the Radziwiłł clan who fought in the defence of family heritage. Because of his marriage with king sister he could help Nieśwież in development. After his death Katarzyna took over patronage of the town and castle, she restored the church and created big collection of books and paintings. Nieśwież remained in this family until 1813.
