Summary/Abstract: The collapse of the Communist regimes in the countries of Central Europe and the South-East, represented the events that marked the end of the 80s of the 20th century. Referring specifically to Romania, we can say that the revolution of December 1989 marks the end of the Communist regime of Nicolae Ceausescu and the release of the Romanian society under the SOVIET domination. Programme platform of the Romanian Revolution represented the democratic reconstruction of the country, enhancing confidence in political institutions and in the new elite. Most of them were recruited from the ranks of young technocrats and nomenclature of early 1980s raised in the spirit of perestroika under the protective wing of the regime. The study aims to track how the communist elites has been configured on the political scene after the fall of the Communist regime and at the same time, specifying its development stages.
