Summary/Abstract: In the context of his entire work, Małgorzata Dawidek Gryglicka analyzed seve-ral pieces of art by Stanisław Dróżdż, including: Forgetting, in-between, Concrete Poetry (built with nylon threads), and Alea Iacta Est (an installation exhibited at the Venice Biennial in 2003). She compared the analyzed artwork with Dróżdż’s other pieces of art and with Polish and foreign literature, including texts by Jacques Derrida, Marcel Merleau-Ponty (in particular, the Phenomenology of Perception) and Hans-Georg Gadamer’s hermeneutics. She concentrated on the ideas of ‘writing’ and ‘game’. She quoted from her own very interesting conversations with Dróżdż from 2006. The text is a part of the doctoral thesis entitled Texts as Art-forms in Poland after 1967: the Context and the Autonomy of Concrete Writing (written at the Adam Mic-kiewicz University in Poznań, Art History Department, 2008).
