Summary/Abstract: The author, being a contemporary, puts forward his critical overview of educational and national activities in Macedonia, bearing in mind forcible bulgarisation performed by Exarchate during the Turkish administration (until 1912). He also emphasizes divisions within political parties (“coterie spirit”) in the first couple of years after the liberation with harmful consequences with regard to state and national interests.
