Summary/Abstract: If a lot has been written about the personality of the Saint Emperor Constantine the Great and his work, given its decisive importance on the Christian destiny of the Roman Empire, scientist’s opinions are not at all concurrent, as far as the internal motivation or the consequences of the Great Constantine’s reforms are concerned. This was possible especially due to the preconceived ideas with which they began the historical research in different historical currents, particularly beginning with those from the XIXth century. Beyond these controversial aspects, the theme of the emperor’s image is a little exposed to the interpretations of thesis type. Fortunately, to approach such a theme, we have at our disposal a series of numerous authentic archaeological documents, which corroborated could offer a very relevant image of the historical portrait of Saint Constantine the Great. The most important and most credible historical documents are coins, sculptures and bass-relief preserved since Emperor Constantine’s time, as well as since the decades following the year of emperor’s death, 337. The following article will be about this archaeological evidence.
