Summary/Abstract: The priesthood and his work in the world is one of the favorite themes of Fr. Professor Dumitru Stăniloae’s thinking both in publishing, but also in the theological works. It goes without saying that this reflection on the pastoral activity is based on the Church’s teaching about the Sacrament of the Priesthood and its means of implementation, as well as on the experience of the Holy Fathers who have addressed topics such as: the sublime dimension of priest’s ministry at the Saint Shrine, the pastoral responsibilities and methods, the model and the work of the priest’s life in society and the importance of his family in the pastoral work, the unifying and pacifying role of the priest in the midst of parishioners, prayer and meditation in the life of a sacred servant, intellectual and cultural preparation of the priest etc. The creator took over these Biblical and Patristic landmarks, which it has adapted to the context of the time in which he lived, Father D. Stăniloae has drawn in its various articles or studies one of the most profound and realistic images of the contemporary priest and of his fundamental mission to human existence in the midst of a world of increasingly deprived of fellowship with God.
