In the history of psychology, infertility has been initiallyexplained by unconscious defense mechanisms and conflicts; and later, by psychological cyclicalmodel, psychological consequences model, psychosocial context model, grief and bereavementapproaches, individual identity theories, family systems approach and stage models.
