Summary/Abstract: The world is changing. Humanity has managed to change the world and put it on a path of destruction that we barely avoided with the Cuban Missile Crisis and that will be difficult to avoid in the future. Technology has not saved humanity. It has condemned it. There is still hope that the guillotine will stop somewhere on its way down, but again: if technology works, it won’t…You will say, that has nothing to do with singing. The octopus of this doomsday machine reaches my world, too. Recordings ruin the taste of the public from the opera audience, the public influences the theatre management that make poor choices, promoting singers that finally do not deliver and rely on technology. It is like a heavy lifter relying on a crane at the Olympics. Not sure I want to see that. The solutions are there. Back to the origins. Let’s learn again to sing and to teach singing, let’s see how they did it in those glory days of the great singers, let’s find the courage to make the glasses shatter with our voices.
