Dealing with the Past Nowadays. A New Paradigm of Transitional Justice?

Summary/Abstract: By considering transitional justice as an evolving paradigm, this essay endeavors to describe the changes that the field has undergone in the past two decades. The most important features of transitional justice as it looks like nowadays are reconstructed by referring to the current scholarly literature in the field, and then coupled with practical examples from the former Yugoslav experience. Finally, some critical conclusions are drawn as to the implications of the described changes for the classic purposes of transitional justice.
