Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to explore the institutional reforms and ethnic problems in the slow transitional process and Europeanization of the countries from Southeast Europe. As a result of the ethnic conflicts, economic backwardness and political incompetence in the past two decades the region has become symbol of the conflictprone and uncivilised part of Europe.
