Summary/Abstract: When we speak about Turkish theme in the Azerbaijani soviet press, we bring back to our memories the names of such authors as Mehdi Huseyn, Kasum Kasumzade, Elchin and, finally, Mammad Aslan, who have created the very first journalistic works in the Soviet-era Azerbaijan, thus trying to satisfy the great public interest in this topic. The first visit of the People’s Writer of Azerbaijan, dramaturge, critic and public figure Mehdi Huseyn to Turkey, presentation of his book titled “A Month and One Day” to his audience in 1964, was one of the significant events of that time. The article also contains information about two prominent Azerbaijani journalists, who have created interesting literary examples of the Soviet journalism about brotherly Turkey – Azad Sharifov and Zaur Kadymbekov, who worked in Turkey during Soviet times as the correspondents of the popular “Izvestiya” newspaper, as well as their books about the life in Turkey.
