Summary/Abstract: The experience of international travellers in transfer/transit airports and their perceptions on the quality of service affect their impressions of the airports as well as the countries of the airports. Airports are sometimes the first impression shopfronts of the passengers, weather positive or negative, for the prospect touristic and commercial visits to the relevant countries in the future. Therefore, the assessment of passenger satisfaction levels for airport services is important for airport managers. In this study, Istanbul Atatürk Airport and Dubai International Airport, which are evaluated as three stars by the Skytrax, and two of the major transit/transfer airports, were compared in order to identify the weak and strong characteristics of both airports. The final aim of the study is to reveal the possible measures for the new airport which is going to be open in Istanbul in 2018 as a result of the statistical comparison.
