Summary/Abstract: Although there is a considerable tradition of cultural education programs in the West, Romanian public culturalinstitutions have just started to exploit the possibility of educating their audience. The Romanian Cultural Consumption Barometer researchesstate that there is a great need for public relations strategies based on attaining cultural literacy. Thus, museums, theatres and concert hallsshould develop complex off ers that are more than merely their core product, and which incorporate services that provide experiences andenhance audience engagement, like volunteer programs, collaborations between professionals and non-professionals, respectively, theatrepedagogy projects. Szigligeti Theater Oradea’s educational off er is one of the best Romanian examples of how theater pedagogy projectscould generate considerable changes in the consumers’ attitudes, as the number of youth season tickets were doubled in the last sevenyears. This paper presents the results of a focus group research, conducted among teachers from Oradea. The purpose of this research wasto investigate the attitude of this group of benefi ciaries towards the theater education projects of Szigligeti Theater, to identify the causes ofparticipation and non-participation, respectively to analyze the impact of these programs.
