Summary/Abstract: In the book review column, we will present two volumes born from doctoral theses of academics from the Puppet Theatre Department of the University of Arts in Tg Mures. Both books are the result of cooperation between the publishing house of the university, UArtPress and Mentor, another publishing house from Tg Mures. Ildikó Novák’s puppet theatre history volume: Fejezetek a marosvásárhelyi Állami Bábszínháztörténetéből 1949–1975 (Chapters from the History of the State Puppet Theatre in Tg-Mureș 1949–1975) appeared in 2011. Among other subjects we can read about the atmosphere of the founding of the company and artistic life in the communist era.
