Summary/Abstract: With a view to “boosting the moral health of Russian society”, the government of the Russian Federation passed a Concept of State Policy On Memorialising the Victims of Political Repression setting out how such victims ought to be remembered. The 2015 document chiefly refers to the period of Stalinist terror and the Gulag but does not define that “political repression” further. It emphasises, however, that government policy when it comes to remembering the Russian, resp. Soviet, repressive past should be coordinated with similarly focused efforts by religious and other public organisations.
