Summary/Abstract: The article deals with fixation in the dictionaries of the Ukrainian language, which were concluded in the Soviet era, of deformed lexical norms, which today is one of the reasons for the stability of lingual distortions in speech of Ukrainians. The main directions of the Soviet ‘fight’ against ‘nationalistic distortions’ at the ‘language front’ were determined, as well as those language abnormalities were identified, which appeared in the register of domestic dictionaries (in particular, in the academic ‘Dictionary of the Ukrainian Language’ in 11 volumes) in order to bring the Ukrainian lexicon closer to the Russian one, and those, which, on the contrary, were removed.
