Summary/Abstract: This article is an empirical, qualitative study which seeks toprovide some insights into organisational communication, how it is taught and the context, both academic and ‘in-company’, in ClujNapoca, Romania. The study suggests ways that may help in-company trainers improve their training efforts. The prerequisites for the study were set by organisational communication and contemporary theories of learning, while the research is based on testimonials and comments resulting from recorded interviews with employees working for multinational companies. Multinational companies offer further in-company training to their employees, and our present inquiry looked into a few cases of employees who received such a training, in an attempt to reconcile the two forms of training (academic and in-company) for the benefit of all actors involved: trainees, academic trainers, company trainers and stakeholders.
