Summary/Abstract: The study is a "pilot probe" into the field of sports thematisation using artistic style in "sports prose" for children. Based on the concept of the communication register and applying the basic theories of the theory of lexical motivation, we analyse the sport motivated lexicon in a concrete - intentionally selected - space for the children of the specified artistic text: “Ferdo cvičí mravenisko.” In this way, we uncover the next "layer" of sport linguistics, which is why we want to contribute to the interdisciplinary exploration of the sports communication register.
