Summary/Abstract: Sports terminology is a specific field of terminology based on the knowledge base of sports sciences. Given the wide spectrum of terms used by experts in the area of sports kinanthropology, sports educology, and sports humanistics, it oftentimes occurs that the Slovak and foreign terms are used incorrectly when denoting a phenomenon studied. This state may be reversed by using high-quality bilingual and monolingual dictionaries related to the area concerned. However, to be user friendly, the dictionaries must meet specific and strict requirements described in this theoretical study.
