Summary/Abstract: This article addresses the issue of hidden/invisible disabilities and the question of identity of individuals with disabilities. The authors use Erving Goffman’s concept of stigma and point to its usefulness for understanding the phenomenon of information management by people with invisible/hidden disabilities. They also broaden the analysis, emphasizing the usefulness of revealing the stigma in the context of identity politics. Final conclusions address the issue of formulating identity politics and its impact on institutionalized public action.
